Description:
Every Wednesday we have been learning about the inquiry process while finding out about different cultural dress from around the world. The first stage of an inquiry is to gather information ‘Get It’. First we chose a culture we wanted to find out more about and then started researching.

Term 3 Maths Sample

Description: For maths this term we have been learning a range of strategies to help us solve algebra problems.


Task:  Make a short movie to prove that you have achieved your maths goal.


Criteria:


  • Show, explain, prove your goal and how you did it
  • Clear message
  • Two questions to show your learning
  • Correct answer


Evaluation:
  1. What are you most proud of and why? getting to such a high level. because there is mostly only year6s on this level


  1. What challenged you the most and why? answering all the answers correctly. because i am so scared i will get them wrong and not show a example


  1. Next time, what is a goal you can work towards? next time my goal to work towards is not mucking up and pausing.

Accuracy/Expanding Vocab: The Tree of 40 Fruit

Award-winning artist and professor, Sam Van Aken’s latest project has combined the beauty of art and the magic of science to create ‘The Tree of 40 fruit.’
The name of this amazing creation does not disappoint, with the tree producing 40 different varieties of peaches, plums, apricots, nectarines, cherries, and even almonds.
Sam’s creation is even more amazing due to the fact that some of the fruits are ancient and are varieties that are very hard to come by.
The tree itself is a stunning work of art, with crimson, pink, purple and white blooms.
Sam has placed 16 unique 40 fruit trees around the USA in museums, community centres and private art collections and visits each twice a year to prune and collect grafts for future trees.
It takes a total of 5 years for each tree to develop and then another 4 years for it to produce the 40 fruits.
Sam hopes his creation will teach people of all the different varieties of plums, apricots and peaches that were once available and perhaps raise question as to why there is such a small variety available in stores.
You have to admit…this is some yummy art!

What If?

this is my what if story we had to write here is my story enjoy
What If All The Clocks In The World Went Dead?

“Mum” I said loudly “is it time to go to school yet” I ask politely
“no” said mum “it’s only am 7.00”
“well its been 7.00 for like a year now” i groan “i am like 13 already” “ i am just gonna go to school now”

I get to school and see aye playing on the monkey bars I yell “Aye its like a stop in time” “Yea I know”aye replies
“my watch says it is 12.00 well 12.01 now well you get what i mean … umm ” i say
“Well that is weird my clock is not working and your watch must be the only one working in the universe” Aye interrupts
I walk to the class “there is no one here” I say
“I know i was counting and i was here for a week good i brought extra food am i right” Aye said “I am gonna go to my secret cubby house (ayes too)” I say
       “What if we make a marshmallow dispenser” aye said
“That is so off topic and where will we get the marshmallows from?” I ask in question.
“We can make a time stopper on your watch and it freezes everyone that is not touching it so we can freeze time and steal stuff from the shops!”aye says with greed. “Umm ok” i say with hesitation “lets make it” aye yells with excitement
     Umm i will go get the tools and the equipment So after we made the time stopper in my watch i told aye to touch the watch then i stopped time everything around us froze it was so freaky (my watch still works) we made the marshmallow machine it shot marshmallows straight in my mouth my mouth exploded marshmallows went everywhere!
      we went and ( stole ) lots of ( food )  ( aye told me to )

we put all the food away and we wrote a book this is it...
